Barnwell Verge Seeds of Hope Commnity Project phase 2
During community and school workshops which we have been running in Abbey ward over the past 6 months, I have been creating these stunning tiny fused glass artworks with workshop participants to be inserted into different structures in the new biodiversity garden on the Barnwell Road verge in Cambridge. for more info on the whole proect, go to Barnwell Verge: Seeds of Hope - Abbey People and Barnwell Verge: Seeds of Hope - Abbey People
These structures are bee posts which will have holes drilled in to house lone bees that we are wanting to attract to their go to plants in the garden. Each post shows images of specific insects accompanied by their favourite plants showing how all relationships in nature are so important!
In school workshops, we have been creating fused tiles to be inserted into the uprights for the garden noticeboard which explore key plant and animal species and habitat colours to be found in our very valuable and threatened local chalk stream, Coldhams Brook, which runs along side the road verge.
